Sheldon Oak Central, INC was invited to present at LISC's inaugural Racial Equity and Community Engagement Convening on February 21st, 2024, among many other organizations around Hartford. We discussed our previous achievements in DEIJ and community engagement, including summer programs, intern initiatives, and community research conducted by our former director at Sunday morning events. We highlighted current ongoing initiatives between our Strategic and Neighborhood Planning Masters Intern and our Strategic Planning Consultant. Additionally, we explored exciting upcoming collaborations focusing on DEIJ and community engagement. HartfordNEXT took the stage with us to discuss ongoing efforts on civic literacy and advocacy programs in our communities, such as their Neighborhood Training Institute (NIT).
